Website Management Guide (CMS 2.0)

AIChE provides its organizations, volunteers, and staff with a platform for deploying websites. This platform includes website hosting, a Content Management System (CMS), and a couple of design templates.

For AIChE entities (Local Sections, Divisions, Forums, Committees, Societies, and approved niche groups), this service is currently  provided at  no cost. However, the general philosophy is that:

  • website owners will be responsible for all content and its upkeep
  • the designated webmasters will use  documentation (this manual) to learn how to use the platform to build and maintain the website

This guide provides information about how to request, develop, and maintain websites based on AIChE's Framework for WebsitesPlease use  the sections below to get started, and for operational reference.

NOTE: Due to constant technology evolution, AIChE may more than one Content Management System (CMS) in operation at any given time. Please refer to the list of websites for current technology platform versions currently in use. This document relates to the latest version of the Framework ("CMS 2.0 (Drupal)"); if your website is based on the older version ("CMS 1.0 (Legacy)"), please refer to the previous version of this guide
